Seven miles of I-190, including these bridges over Route 62 in Sterling, will be improved starting this summer.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is set to begin construction along seven miles of I-190 from the West Boylston-Stering town line to the Sterling-Lancaster town line.

The $19.2 million of work includes resurfacing six lanes and bridge deck resurfacing on six bridges crossing Route 62, Rowley Hill Road, Route 12, Railroad, Pratts Junction Road and Flanagan Hill Road. Cumberland, R.I. firm J.H. Lynch and Sons is the contractor on the project.

Work is scheduled to begin this summer and be complete in summer 2020. Highway Administrator Jonathan Gulliver said the work will address necessary core infrastructure maintenance needs.

"We appreciate the public's patience as crews work safely and efficiently to complete this resurfacing work," Gulliver said in a press release.
