Riverdale Mills' WireWall lines the U.S./Mexico border.

Three Central Massachusetts companies that expressed interest in building for the U.S. government along the border with Mexico were not chosen to showcase prototypes for the structure.

Riverdale Mills of Northbridge, Perini Management Services of Framingham and Titan CMG, Inc. of Milford were left off two lists of companies chosen to build prototypes of the wall that played a key part in President Donald Trump's campaign.

Last week, Riverdale Mills told the WBJ that it has participated in the second phase of the proposal process and has submitted drawings, mockups and pricing of its proposed wall.

The company manufactures a product it calls WireWall, a high-security fencing made exclusively at the company's Northbridge facility.

According to Riverdale, the product is used on 31 miles on the southern border, guards the Kuwait-Iraq border, surrounds the U.S. Embassy in Panama and provides security for other sensitive locations around the world.

Perini Management Services said on Friday that it did not submit a bid for the wall. The company already has a large portfolio of government projects, including several U.S. embassies, military facilities and even a project to repair Alcatraz.

Contracting firm Titan CMG on its website said it serves both public and private sectors and has worked with several government agencies on projects.

The company did not immediately say if they submitted a bid.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced late Thursday the four companies chosen to build a wall made of materials other than concrete. The builders hail from Alabama, Arizona, Maryland and Mississippi.

Two of those companies, Caddell Construction of Alabama and W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Company of Mississippi, were chosen to build prototypes of walls made of both materials.
