The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission, a brewery, an arcade restaurant and country music bar have all inquired about moving into vacant spaces in Worcester's Union Station, which would remake the tenant mix at the facility originally opened in 1911.
What is the best way to use the vacant business space inside Union Station?

We should do all we can to bring the CCC to Worcester; it will bring more and permanent jobs to Worcester, and it is another feather in the cap of Worcester to have a state office headquartered here. We should maximize our advantage of being centrally located in Central Mass.

I think a brewery/restaurant would work well in this location

Also, shops and attraction venues, more shops, like the one at the South Station hubs, they have dunkin donuts, McDonalds, souvenir shops, and newspaper stand that is full service...also information center that is fully functioning, besides full service restaurants...

Why not make it a multiuse facility with restaurants, open market stalls, brewery and bars like they do with such spaces in Europe. The office spaces could be used for office space as well if someone wanted to put their business in there.

A brewery or bar would help bring in parking and bring in added foot traffic during off hours, adding an element of security to the building.

I think that there should be a cafe space that accepts credit cards as well as maybe move the city's transportation office to that building. There should also be an event office/person available at Union Station so that when people are coming in looking to plan an event there is an office to go to.

Very happy to see this question, though it's a bit limiting to give us only one option. The upstairs office spaces which were recently occupied by CMRPC are probably better suited to office space, while the ground level spaces would be perfect for a brewery. Personally, I'd like to see (1) the CCC upstairs in the old CMRPC space, (2) a brewery in the restaurant space in the atrium, (3) a coffee shop in the ground level space just outside the main entrance (to the left as you walk in).

All of the above.

It should not be used for office space. Should be retail and food services.
